Our Prediction:

Everton will win

Everton – Sheff Utd Match Prediction | 22-09-2019 10:00

My opinion is that we can expect a high scoring game in this one. Sheffield Utd have kept their most important player Oliver Norwood this summer. They will need a lot from Richarlison in this game in order for them to win the vital 3 points. Both teams are looking to secure as good as possible results in this game hoping to achieve their season goals. Everton is in a solid form this season. They are scoring and conceding in every game they play. They have 5 points after a surprising but very well deserved victory against Aston Villa away from home. Everton won the last 2 out of 3 fixtures against Sheffield Utd. They have 7 points from the 5 games they played in the Premier League with a 4:4 goal difference. Historically they do not have trouble defeating them.

Their last season Championship form must be forgotten as Premier League is a completely different animal. Late equalizing goal by their charismatic long time striker Billy Sharp secured them an important away point. They will have all of their players ready to play against Everton. It will be vital for them that he plays well in this game. Chris Wilders team uses center defenders as wingbacks which makes them very unpredictable on offense. Sheffield Utd are playing the most unique style of football in entire Europe. Against Bournemouth, they were evenly matched based on all parameters. Their playmaker and player that creates everything for them is Oliver Norwood who is a product of the Manchester United youth system.

At home, they have taken some momentum from that end of season form into the new term with home victories over Watford and Wolves ensuring theyve now won 6 consecutive league games at Goodison Park. After finishing the 2018/2019 campaign so strongly, before bringing in some exciting new players in the summer like Moise Kean and Alex Iwobi, Everton fans were hopeful of a really positive campaign and a push for a top six finish this season.

Theyve got a strong squad, a lot of potential within their ranks and the experience necessary to push on towards the top half of the table and potentially even beyond. Despite some inconsistencies in their start to the season, Everton still have a great deal to be excited about as we look ahead to the future. Theyve been overshadowed by local rivals Liverpool for far too long now, and theyre putting the pieces in place that will allow them to push back against the red half of Merseyside.

His tactical innovations have won the side plenty of plaudits but he will have to be more flexible than ever if hes to ensure his side beat the odds to stay in the top tier this season. Sheffield United have provided one of the fairytale stories of English football over the last few seasons, earning back-to-back promotions from League One into the Premier League under the guidance of a boyhood fan of the club, Chris Wilder.

Marco Silvas troops have turned their Goodison Park into a real fortress and seeing that the Blades recorded their last win on the road in the English elite competition back in December, 2016, we are tempted to put our money on the hosts. Despite producing a fine performance against Bournemouth in their last league match, Everton were eventually beaten by the Cherries at Vitality Stadium. The Toffees continue to struggle on the travels, but you should bear in mind that they are eyeing their seventh home win in the Premier League.

Given that Sheffield United failed to score at home to Southampton last week, we can see a home win to nil here at8/5 withLadbrokes. We dont see them taking anything from this trip to Merseyside though, given how strong Everton have been in front of their own fans of late. Goodison Park has seemed like a real fortress of late with the Toffees winning their last six league games at the ground, keeping five clean sheets in the process including against Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.

This Week's Promos

Everton seem to struggle away from home even more so than most clubs, but at Goodison Park, they have a bit more of an edge to them and were expecting to see them bounce back in a big way against the Blades. If they can get off to a hot start then we can picture them controlling the pace of the game in the middle of the park, shutting Sheffield United down in the process. Its going to be frantic and even quite end to end at times, but in the end, the Toffees will take control.
