RGC (@2.5) vs Cardiff (@1.61)

Our Prediction:

Cardiff will win

RGC – Cardiff Match Prediction | 14-09-2019 09:30

We think theres a generous price on yet another Huddersfield defeat after the Terriers were beaten at home to another relegated side Fulham on Friday. Warnock has also won nine of his previous 11 home games in this division, so were backing his side to pull off a result. It helps the hosts that the manager tends to enjoy clashes with the Terriers. Neil Warnock has only lost two of his 14 league matches against Huddersfield (W8 D4 L2), a club he managed between 1993 and 1995. Cardiff should be back to their best at home, so we are siding with them here.

The Bluebirds proved their worth in a 2-1 win over Luton Town and they are likely to give fans yet another reason for celebration this weekend as the Royals to not seem to be on top of their game at the moment. Reading have been struggling at the back at the start of the season and seeing that Cardiff City are determined to secure a quick return to the English top flight, away win should be considered.

Cardiff were able to return to winning ways in midweek, but how will they get on at Ewood Park this weekend? It hasnt been the ideal return to the Championship for promotion specialist Neil Warnock, who would have expected more defensive solidity from his side than weve seen across the opening four games. The Bluebirds arent yet convincing us, which has us siding with a Blackburn team who are starting to get their act together and are on a strong winning run.

While Rovers opened up with some struggles their three-game winning run signals a rise in confidence at Ewood Park, so this is a chance for the hosts to continue their strong form and keep moving up the table. They have conceded three at Wigan and Reading, two sides who dont have as much going forward as Blackburn. Cardiff have won both home games so far, while theyve been beaten in two trips.

That win at the KCOM was their third in a row, with Tony Mowbray getting his team on form and climbing up the table. They started the season with defeats to Charlton and Fulham, but Rovers have managed to get things back on track in recent weeks. Blackburn are into the top half of the Championship table following their 1-0 win at Hull in midweek. Will they be able to continue that against one of the pre-season favourites for promotion?

It is hard to argue with the prices on offer here as Rovers are a decent home side and Cardiff are struggling on the road. Over 2.5 goals is the outsider of two and given this has happened in both road games for the Welsh side this season this seems the logical bet while over 3.5 goals also appeals as a value selection.

The hosts conceded 2.33 goals per match in the new season. Those who are aiming for the final outcome should note, however, that Huddersfield last beat Cardiff back in 2003! As a result, I have little dilemma ahead of this outing. Moreover, three of last five H2H encounters between Wednesdays rivals resulted in Over 2.5 goals. Moreover, the visiting side also failed to keep their net still in last four matches.

The hosts were able to win 10 times at home last season, while Cardiff are still suffering after poor away form in the top flight. The Welsh side lost 13 of 19 trips in the top flight last term, while we see them getting beaten for the third straight away match. Blackburn are getting back on form in defence, so were also going with a 1-0 win for Rovers in this clash. Were going with a home win as our main tip for this meeting at Ewood Park.

The 180-cm-tall footballer played for Barnet from 2012 to 2016 and he scored 14 goals in 169 appearances for the Bees. Andy Yiadom then decided to take a step forward in his career as he moved to Championship side Barnsley. At the end of the 2010/2011 campaign Yiadom moved to Braintree Town and after scoring seven goals in 27 appearances for the Iron he signed a contract with Barnet.

The visitors showed against Middlesbrough how committed they are to attacking so backing both teams to score seems the obvious call. Bookmakers make the home side obvious favourites to win the fixture and while they should oblige the first weekend showed the dangerous of taking sides at such short odds so early in the campaign. Luton had three players get among the goals in the opening weekend but it is James Collins of the three who appeals most and backing him to net again here appeals against a Cardiff side who shipped three last weekend.
