Wexford Bohs – North End United Match Prediction | 15-09-2019 06:00

Wexford FC face Dublin opposition once again in the First Round of the FAI Cup tomorrow night, this time last year we were knocked out of the competition in our inaugural year when Leinster Senior League side Crumlin United left Ferrycarrig with a 2-1 win (Owen McCormack nodding in our goal) to earn a date with Dundalk in the next round (which they lost 3-1).

The champions certainly have a very impressive record in the league to date, having won all of their nine games on the way to being crowned champions. And the Enniscorthy boys did it the hard way, coming from two down at half time to rifle in four goals without reply after the break. Murphy Park on Saturday when they accounted for Gorey Celtic C on a 4-2 scoreline. Anne Marie ONeill from the Wexford Schoolboys League was on hand to present the jubilant Rovers team with their league trophy and medals following last weekends game. SHAMROCK ROVERS B claimed the U14 Division 3 title at Fr.

The new signings and promoted under age players have been great additions to the squad but it was also good to see experienced players like Ross Kenny and AJ Lehane return to action last week after long term injuries. Another of those long term absentees Aaron Dobbs returned to full training this week having missed the last five games.

North End Utd and Gorey Rangers played out a 1-1 draw this morning, in the Premier Division, on the opening weekend of the 2019-20 Wexford & District Soccer League. We got the reaction of both managers, Ben Casserly and John Godkin, following the game, as well as a few clips from the match. We will have highlights of the game later on tonight, so follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates.

Finn Harps are in flying form at the moment (undefeated in 6, no goals conceded) so it was always going to be a difficult task to come away from there with points. With just 4 League games remaining for us this season (3 of them at home vs Shels, Cobh and Athlone) we go into the game in good spirits and looking to finish the season as strongly as possible and improve on last years final points total of 19. Having put in one of the team performances of the season against Drogheda last time out in Ferrycarrig, Wexford fell to a 3-0 defeat up in Ballybofey last week in the League.

We are in a remarkably similar position now as we were then, in 2017 having played 23 games before we met Crumlin we were bottom of the First Division having won 3 games with 16 points to our name, this time around after 23 games we are sitting 2nd from bottom, 3 games won with 13 points (16 points if we forget the Athlone Town result been overturned!). This time, its Wexford FC who go into Fridays Cup tie as the underdogs when Bohemians FC come to town.

So, a difficult task ahead for this young team and young club (not yet 2 years old remember!) as we face one of the most iconic clubs in the League of Ireland with an incredibly rich history going all the way back to 1890, a founding member of the League of Ireland and with 11 League of Ireland Championships and 7 FAI Cups to their name.
